If I were a ghost

 
If I were a ghost,
flying would be natural to me.
I'd gallivant around the whole world,
without any fee.

If I were a ghost,
guzzling food wouldn't take a toll on me.
I'd gobble and gulp all I like,
totally guilt free.

If I were a ghost,
Oh! mom and dad, to be near thee.
I'd climb and live next to you,
atop our oak tree.

If I were a ghost,
Ah! my sibs, to tease you three.
I'd flick your hair, pinch your nose,
and poke your head in glee.

If I were a ghost,
my ex-lover, I'd haunt you shall see.
Three days your love endured for me,
was gone in other three.

If I were a ghost,
unusual would be usual obviously.
Gems and gold, some silver I’d hold,
to grant all your plea.

Beware all! If I were a ghost,
you wouldn't want me your enemy.
You'd loose your mind and might go blind, seein'
 a handsome ghost as me.

Old man of the road

The idea behind this poem is: finding the same face in the same place at a designated time each day in some part of your life. We all have experienced such situations (esp. in childhood) where we see a stranger go about his/her business everyday and your timings coincide. Slowly you don't feel like strangers anymore even though you have not uttered a single word to each other ever and silently cross each other's path everyday. Once that part of your life is over, you forget this known and yet unknown face easily, until one day when you reminisce about your past and you find that familiar face peeping at you... He walks alone along the winding road, with a head hung low, adheres to its code. Bent with age, like a fruit laden bough  leaning on his cane, everyday I watch him go. TRAVEL DIARIES #1

It has been sometime that I have written anything. Wonder if this is what is called a writer's block. If so, was a pretty long one. Anyway thought will give it a go again and what best way to start than writing a travel blog for once. Past couple of months, we (I and Mr. Shyam) discussed and brainstormed while in our quest to zero in on a place that would be perfect for our 4 days of Easter holidays. Criteria was that the place needs to be visa(at least one of us at the moment can't travel outside Sweden), pocket and weather friendly. After long debates, sleepless nights and taking turns at threatening each other with a hunger strike if something is not planned for these 4 days, a colleague was involved. In short, we settled on a place for a one day trip. Ya, that happened, everything everywhere was booked or sold out and so we stayed home 3 days and went out for a day trip.
